The day after yesterday…
The thick, heavy cloud of anxiety that enveloped yesterday finally began to lift last night. After a gruelling 13 hours of waiting, holding my breath at every moment, the news finally came through. She made it out of surgery. As I let out a breath I hadn’t realized I was holding, a profound relief washed over me, akin to the comforting embrace of a loved one after a long separation.
But while the immediate threat has been navigated, the horizon still holds challenges. The journey ahead is by no means an easy one. Recovery from such a complex surgery is bound to be long, filled with its own set of highs and lows. Every day will be a new battle for her, a test of resilience and spirit.
But knowing her, she’ll face each day with a strength and determination that’s awe-inspiring. I’m reminded of the countless times she’s demonstrated her inner fortitude, even in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.
For now, I will be there for her, offering support in any way I can, bearing witness to her journey and cheering her on every step of the way. We all have our trials, and this is hers. But she’s not alone in it. I, along with everyone who loves her, stand by her side.
